MSMAware Computation

 

 

MSMAware Software has two options for user to design storm for any catchments. The first is “Prelim” and the second is “Advance”. “Prelim” is the faster as it requires few parameters for input. The Second option called “Advance”  for expert user which require more parameters input in the software.

 

 PRELIM MODE

 

General data:

 

Location : Air Terjun Sg. BatuKuala Lumpur

Area : 10 Hectare

 

Step 1: Start MSMAware. Select “General Setting” tab.

 
 

Step 2: Insert the information needed (Area and Catchment)  
 

Step 3: Select “Storm” tab.  
 

Step 4: Check only “MSMA2”.  
 

Step 5: Click Prelim Mode.  
 

Step 6: Move cursor to the map and click the site location (Selangor).  
 

Step 7: Select “Kuala Lumpur” and the following screen appears.  
 

Step 8: Select “Station 3317001- Air Terjun Sg. Batu”.  
 

Step 9: Click “Selected for DP” box to use the data in the DETENTION BASIN module. Then click the “run” button.  
 

Step 10: The IDF curve is plotted as shown below.  
 

Step 11: Click “Report” button to generate a design storm data.  
 

Step 12: A report is generated as shown below.
 

 

Note    
 

ADVANCE MODE  
 

Step 1: Start MSMAware. Select “General Setting” tab.  
 

Step 2: Insert the information needed (Area and Catchment)  
 

Step 3: Select “Storm” tab.  
 

Step 4: Check only “MSMA2”.  
 

Step 5: Click Advance Modes  
 

Step 6: Move cursor to the map and click the site location (Selangor).  
 

Step 7: Select “Kuala Lumpur” and the following screen appears.  
 

Step 8: Select “Station 3317001- Air Terjun Sg. Batu”.  
 

Step 9: Click “Selected for DP” box to use the data in the DETENTION BASIN module. Then click the “run” button.  
 

Step 10: The IDF curve is plotted as shown below.  
 

Step 11: Click “Report” button to generate a design storm data.  
 

Step 12: A report is generated as shown below.  
 

Step 13: MSMAware can also run both MSMA1 and MSMA2 if you checked both.  
 

Step 14: Two IDF curves are generated for MSMA1 and MSMA2.  
 

Step 15: A report is generated for MSMA1 and MSMA2.
